What Is The Purpose Of The Imperial Leather Sticker?

Reddit users have gotten to the bottom of why the famous soap bar has a sticker

Reddit users have lost their minds after discovering the real reason behind Imperial Leather’s signature metallic sticker. And no, it’s not to scrub your face.

The sticker is famous for two things- its magical ability to still be in high demand with grandparents, and its ability to remain secure despite the bar wearing down.

One Reddit user wrote, “You have no idea how many times I’ve sat in the bath and stared at this sticker in amazement that it sticks to the soap ‘till the very end.”

In response, a Reddit user revealed that the sticker’s purpose is to stop the bar of soap sticking to the soap dish when placed sticker-down.

If you’re skeptical about this revelation, Imperial Leather reached out to The Daily Mail for further clarity. They said, “Besides the brand identity, the sticker on the top is for a long-lasting bar and preventing mushiness.

When the soap is used, the sticker will make and keep the top surface, where the sticker is on, concave.

After use, the soap is supposed to be upside down. The concave surface will help water run out from the bar and minimise the touching surface on a soap tray.”

So, pretty sure we can all agree there’s an important lesson from all this- If you’re going to create an ingenious invention, maybe at least remember to tell people about it.

However, let’s not overlook the bigger mystery- why does it contain the word “leather” in the name when it does not make your skin leathery? Hopefully Reddit can solve this mystery soon!
