The Songs You Can Save Lives To

The Bee Gees monopoly is over!

If you are unfortunate enough to have someone you know suffer sudden cardiac arrest, Cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR has proven to be one of the most effective ways to keep oxygenated blood flowing through the body as you wait for emergency services to arrive.

But in order to properly practice CPR, you need to be able to perform chest compressions at the perfect rate of 100 beats per minute, which is no easy task.

Well not to worry, the NewYork-Presbyterian released a Spotify list of all the songs that are at 100 beats per minute, so you can practice perfectly timed CPR.

The genres of each song are so diverse that there is bound to be a favourite for you in there, from Lady Gaga’s Just Dance to Simon and Garfunkel’s Cecilia and Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Sweet Home Alabama.

Buzzfeed reporter Julia Reinstein tweeted this playlist, with many responses including one from a musician featured; Tyson Ritter. Tyson is the lead singer of the American Rejects, whose ‘Gives you hell’ is one of the songs at the perfect lifesaving 100 beats per minute.
