Free Willy Child Star Sentenced To Jail
The actor reached a plea deal following a domestic violence incident involving his girlfriend.
Richter, who played Jesse in the 1993 film Free Willy, was arrested in October after an altercation with this partner. Richter's rep told The New York Post at the time the pair had been involved in a argument that escalated to the point where police were called.
Richter denied there was any physical contact during the altercation.
At the time of his arrest, Richter spent two nights in jail and was later released on $27,000 bail.
He was charged with one count of domestic battery and one count of vandalism. He did not contest the vandalism charge and the charge for domestic battery was dismissed.
The 38-year-old was found guilt of vandalism and was sentenced to four days in jail with a 36 month probation period. He will also have to pay fines and restitution to his girlfriend.
Richter is also required to attend a year-long domestic violence treatment program.
