'Hard No, Fatty': Woman's Date From Hell Goes Viral

Her date turned drinks into "dinner for himself" and then bailed on a $70 bill.

A woman was left with a $70 bill and one hell of a story after her date did a runner mid-way through their meal, texting her on his way out: "Thanks for dinner! Hard no ... fatty."

Californian woman Ryann Miller met a man we'll identify only as 'B' after chatting to him on the dating app Bumble. They planned to meet at a pub in Huntington Beach, south east of Los Angeles, for a cheeky drink an hour before Miller was due to meet her friend at the airport.

"We decided on a bar on Main Street and sat down for drinks," she said.

"The whole way to the bar he talked about bad dates he had, so I shared a few as well. When we sat down, he continued to shit all over girls my age and our expectations of men."

She added: "He's 38, by the way."

Ryann shared a photo from B's Instagram account, which has since been set to private.

Things got worse when they arrived at the restaurant. They were meant to be meeting for a drink, but he "turned it into dinner for himself", ordering a steak and drinking three beers to Miller's one.

"He was completely rude to our waitress because she didn't walk over to our table fast enough when he finished his first beer," she said.

"He threw his menu on the floor like a literal baby and then spoke to her in a disgustingly sarcastic and degrading tone.

"He asked me if he was being an asshole and I said yes. He then went on to tell me to lighten up and a bunch of other irrelevant nonsense."

But bad behaviour wasn't the end of it. Three beers and a steak dinner later, her date asks if Miller would mind if he used the bathroom.

Five minutes later, she receives a text: "Thanks for dinner! Hard no welcome to Cali fatty."

"I sit there for a minute and process what just happened, then I realise that this bill still needs to be paid," she said.

Miller ended up forking over the $US 50 ($AU 70) for her $6 beer, and her date's three beers and a steak.

"Moral of the story: do your research FIRST, gal pals," she said.

"We are all beautiful women who deserve to be loved, regardless of our size, race, ability, sexuality, whatever. Don't let anybody make you feel anything different."

Bumble responded by deleting the man's account.

It comes just days after a Southern California man was charged with extortion after going on a series of dates with women he met via dating apps, only to ditch them when the cheque arrived.

Paul Guadalupe Gonzales, 45, has pleaded not guilty to a total of six counts of extortion, with two additional accounts dismissed, reports CBS News.

One woman, who did not wish to be identified, said she met the man on Bumble last year, and they agreed to meet at a restaurant in Pasadena.

He ordered immediately, she said. "A glass of Pinot, a Caesar salad with a side of shrimp, a steak and a baked potato."

He left towards the end of the meal saying he needed to take a phone call, and simply never returned, leaving his date with a large bill and half a baked potato.

The man faces more than 16 years behind bars if convicted.
