The Strange, Suggestive Cricket Ad That Has Fans Worried About A Full Toss
It's going to be a VERY sticky wicket.
A certain commercial television network is very excited about procuring the cricket rights for the upcoming summer and beyond after Nine had it for so many years.
Very, very excited.
In fact, the breathless expectation has built to quite a crescendo in a new ad which has left people unsure as to whether cricket this summer will be suitable viewing for children.
No one doubts that the stars of the new coverage have quite the passion for the rhythmic, pulsating game that is cricket.
But the way the new line-up of commentators riff on the old soul classic "Hold on, I'm Comin" has struck many as a classic case of premature anticipation.
Some were a little turned off.
Others more eager.
Others made clever reference to another recent awkward cricket thing -- "elite honesty".
Need we fear an outbreak of wrist spin this summer? Will we see more beautiful strokes under the covers than through them?
