'Hello Speaker, My Old Friend': WA Pollie Wraps Up The Year With a Song

Politics can be a tough game, but one player wrapped up the year with a good humoured song.

WA's Minister for Culture and the Arts, David Templeman, delivered the parliamentary wrap-up to the tune of Simon & Garfunkel's The Sound of Silence.

Templeman opened the rendition with a simple "Hello Speaker, my old friend", before proceeding to poke fun at his colleagues

He wrapped up with a message to the next MP to speak : "Try following that one."

We can assure you it's well worth the watch above.

The video has gone global, with a British MP joking it's given him inspiration for his next Brexit speech.

Others have called for more politicians to get on board.

It's not the first time The Mandurah MLA has broken out in song.

Last year Templeman launched into a rendition of Monty Python's The Galaxy Song for his end of year speech.

We expect to see a lot more singing in parliamentary chambers next year, because sometimes things are better said with a song.
