MP Rachel Carling-Jenkins has become an independent.
Victorian upper house MP Rachel Carling-Jenkins has become an independent, leaving Cory Bernardi's Australian Conservatives party.
Dr Carling-Jenkins confirmed to AAP she was sitting as an independent from Friday and had not made a decision on whether to run at the state election in November.
She was elected in 2014 as a member of the Democratic Labour Party but switched to the Conservatives last year.
The MP would not disclose why she has left the Conservatives.
