Manhunt Underway After Man Dies In Stabbing Attack

A manhunt is underway after the stabbing death of a 35-year-old man at a NSW home on Sunday night.

Police have still not managed to locate a man who had fled the Lake Macquarie home shortly before they arrived.

Emergency services were called to a house at Leumeah Place at Bolton Point after reports of a stabbing at around 10.45pm.

The 35-year-old man was treated at the scene by paramedics and was taken to John Hunter Hospital. He died just before midnight.

The man who allegedly ran from the house has been described as being of Caucasian appearance and 172 centimetres tall.

“I urge that man to come forward and speak with investigators as soon as possible,” said Homicide Squad Detective Chief Inspector Gary Jubelin.

Police have already interviewed a number of people who were attending a gathering which had been taking place at the house.

Investigators are still continuing into the circumstances surrounding the man's death and have urged any more witnesses to the crime to make themselves known.
