Gamer Accused Of Assaulting Partner To Plead Not Guilty

The man accused of slapping his partner while broadcasting live to other gamers will plead not guilty to assault.

Luke Munday appeared in Camden Local Court on Thursday where his lawyer told a magistrate he will fight the charge of common assault, after allegedly being captured on livestream slapping the mother of his young children.

The alleged victim also appeared in court and made an application to vary the apprehended violence order to allow the pair to live together as they “work on their relationship”.

The court heard the alleged victim relied on Munday for income and support as his lawyer urged the magistrate to make a ruling on the application today.

However, police have opposed the application and the hearing was adjourned to allow prosecutors to present evidence against the variation.

He will decide on the application next month.
