Chris Dawson Arrives In Sydney After Arrest Over Wife Lyn's Murder

Chris Dawson has landed in Sydney after being extradited from Queensland on Thursday.
Dawson will be questioned by police and is expected to be charged over the disappearance and possible murder of his former wife Lynette.
On Wednesday, Chris was arrested at a Gold Coast property after additional evidence was collected regarding Lyn's murder. This new information included two new witness statements.
Chris spent his first night in custody on Wednesday evening, and was extradited to NSW on Thursday on a commercial flight.

As far as extraditions of accused criminals go, 10 News First reporter Daniel Sutton recounts this one as pretty relaxed.
Chris wore no handcuffs, and when he strolled off the plane in thongs, shorts and a polo, detectives simply walked down the stairs with him and into a waiting car on the tarmac.

There were no guns, paddy-wagon or manhandling.
The 70-year-old spent most of the flight from the Gold Coast to Sydney staring out of the window from his back-row seat.
After landing, he was immediately taken to the Sydney police centre, where he will likely be charged with the murder of his former wife.
Lynette Dawson was last seen in the suburb of Bayview in Sydney's northern beaches in 1982, almost 37 years ago. She lived with her husband Chris and her two young daughters when went she we missing.
The mysterious circumstances surrounding Lynette Dawson's disappearance have long been subject to Australian and international intrigue.

A week-long dig at Lyn's former Bayview property was carried out in September 2018 but it failed to locate any new evidence.
In 2015, NSW Police established Strike Force Scriven to re-investigate the circumstances of Lyn's disappearance and suspected murder.

Previous to this, two separate inquests recommended that that a "known person", now identified as Chris Dawson, be charged with her murder. DPP, however, determined insufficient evidence to lay charges
