'Gutless' Attack On Teen Captured On Mobile Phone Footage

A young teenage boy was brutally attacked by a group of older teenagers outside a train station around midday on Sunday, mobile phone footage shows.

The teen, aged 14, is seen lying on the ground outside Ringwood Train Station in Melbourne, Victoria as four older boys surround him.

One of the alleged attackers, wearing a white shirt, appears to stomp on the boy, who can be heard crying out.

The attack was filmed by a bystander and sent on to the family.

The teenager suffered cuts, bleeding and swelling to his head, the family confirmed to Ten. He was too unwell to make a statement to police on Sunday, but is planning on making one on Monday. He’ll also need to visit hospital to have his injuries treated, the family said

The father of the victim posted the footage to Facebook, calling her son's attackers "gutless rats" and asking other parents: "What would you do seeing your child on this video?"

The video has been viewed more than 31,000 times.

Ten has contacted Victoria Police for comment.
