'Heaven Gained Five Angels': Sister of Murdered Perth Family Issues Emotional Tribute

Three generations of the same family were found dead on Sunday.

In a heart-warming tribute issued via police, the sister of the family of the five people killed in WA has described Mara Harvey as a loving mum and thanked the public for their wishes during a “dark and difficult time."

Taryn, the sister of Mara Harvey, the Perth mother killed alongside her three children and mother, Beverley Quinn last week, has paid tribute to the family, who were on Sunday found dead in their Bedford home.

"This world is a sadder place with the loss of these five beautiful people but heaven has gained five new angels," she said in a statement.

Taryn, who didn't want to reveal her last name, issued a written statement on Monday afternoon saying that her sister, Mara, "loved being a mum and she loved her girls."

"She was so proud of each of them and was doing a great job of raising them. Her girls were her world," the statement says.

The three young children were remembered in the statement, with Taryn describing Charlotte as an "energetic, bubbly and confident little girl."

Twins Alex and Beatrix were also commemorated in the statement, with Alice remembered as "outgoing, adventurous and cheeky" and Beatrix "a little more quiet but gave the biggest hugs."

Beverley Quinn, the mother of Mara, was described in the statement as a "kind-hearted, caring mother" who was "always there for her family."

“There are no words to explain the emptiness and loss that we are feeling,” said Taryn.

Anthony Harvey, 24, the father of the children, was charged with murder after handing himself into police.

Harvey was refused bail in Perth Magistrates Court yesterday and is due to appear in court next week.
