Ride-Share Driver Allegedly Assaults Female Passenger

She managed to escape the car and seek refuge at a nearby home.

A young woman on her way home was allegedly indecently assaulted by her ride-share driver, prompting her to flee the vehicle and seek refuge at a nearby home.

The 23-year-old was returning home from a residence in Ambarvale to her home in Camben, in Sydney's south-west, just after 5am on Sunday morning.

It's alleged that the driver of the vehicle, a Hyundai i20, indecently assaulted her. It's then alleged that when she tried to leave the vehicle, he grabbed her arm and attempted to stop her.

"She managed to flee and run to a nearby home where police were alerted," said police.

A 52-year-old man from Ambarvale was arrested after police stopped his car in Campblelltown on Sunday.

He has been charged with two counts of assault with act of indecency, and has been granted conditional bail.
