Police Find Man In Freezer In 'Chilling' Discovery

Copping heat.

Police searching for a man wanted for outstanding warrants made the 'chilling' discovery that he was hiding in a freezer.

On Tuesday morning, police on the north NSW coast received information that a man wanted over an aggravated break-and-enter earlier this year was at a house on Shores Drive, in Yamba.

They searched the property and managed to locate the man, hiding out in a chest freezer.

The 28-year-old was wanted over a break-and-enter at Armatree in February 2018, where a firearm and three vehicles were allegedly stolen.

He was arrested and taken to Grafton Police Station, where all four warrants were executed. He has been refused bail.

It comes just weeks after a man in the United States died after hiding in a restaurant freezer for several hours before attacking employees with a knife.

The man -- later revealed to be a double murderer who had recently been released from prison -- went into cardiac arrest at the New York City restaurant and died.
