CCTV Footage Shows Armed Robberies Of Brothels In Sydney

Two paintball guns believed to have been used during the robberies have been seized by police.

A number of armed robberies committed with paintball guns at brothels across Sydney have been captured on CCTV.

Just before 2am on Monday 15 January, three men -- one of whom was armed -- entered a brothel on Birmingham Road in Villawood, threatening employees before stealing cash and mobile phones.

A 56-year-old man was assaulted during the robbery, sustaining minor injuries to his arms and face.

An hour later that same night, another brothel some 27km away on Lancaster Street in Ingleburn was robbed.

Three men -- again, one of whom was armed -- entered the property and threatened a 58-year-old male employee, before taking cash and fleeing the scene.

Detectives believe the two incidents were linked. They have now released CCTV footage of both incidents in the hope that members pf the public will recognise the men and contact authorities.

The three men are described as being of a Pacific Islander appearance, aged in their late teens or early 20s, and wearing baggy clothing.

Investigators have seized two paintball guns during a search warrant executed in Fairfield, which are believed to have been used during the robbery.

The paintball guns are undergoing forensic examinations.
