Emergency Declared With Siege Underway on Sunshine Coast

Police have declared an "emergency situation".

UPDATE: Police have confirmed Zlatko Sikorsky is inside the unit, and is believed to be armed.

A siege situation is underway on the Sunshine Coast which may be linked to the man wanted over the murder of a woman found in a barrel.

Queensland police are currently negotiating with Sikorsky in a unit complex at Alexandra Heads.  Police have set up an exclusion zone as the negotiations continue.

On Thursday, Queensland Police revealed that Zlatko Sikorsky, 34, may be able to assist with their investigation.

Detectives on Wednesday pulled down a missing persons post about Beilby, who disappeared from her Brisbane home two weeks ago.

Police said Sikorsky and Beilby were "associated" but have not confirmed the identity of the decomposed female they found in the barrel.

More to come.
