Three Charged After Brawl During Which Man Was Stabbed

Police used dogs and helicopters to find the alleged culprits, who had fled the scene.

Three people have been charged following a manhunt in the early hours of Saturday morning for the culprits of a brawl during which one man got stabbed.

Emergency services were called to the Lucky Australia Tavern in North St Mary's, near Penrith, at about 1:30 this morning, finding a 27-year-old man suffering multiple stab wounds.

The culprits had fled the scene, so officers commenced an extensive search of the nearby area, using police dogs and helicopters to assist.

Three people were arrested and taken to Penrith Police Station.

Police have now charged an 18-year-old man, a 17-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl with being armed to commit an indictable offence, and affray.

All three have been granted conditional bail. The man will appear at Penrith Local Court on July 3, while the two teenagers will appear in the Children's Court on the same day.

The injured man was treated by paramedics at the scene, and transferred to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

Inquiries are continuing.
