Instagram Down: App Experiences Worldwide Outage
Instagram briefly went down around the globe mid-morning on Tuesday.
The photo-sharing platform went down in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and in several locations across South America and Europe, according to Down Detector.
The desktop version was showing a '5xx Server Error', which is common for Instagram outages.
The issue was resolved a short time later, with the outage period taking about 30 minutes.
Instagram said it was aware of an issue causing the app to go down for some users, and was working to solve it.
"We know this is frustrating, and our team is working quickly to fix it," Instagram said on Twitter.
"We'll update you here once it's fully resolved."
That didn't stop people taking to Twitter to share their distress at the brief interruption from meme-scrolling.
