The Shocking Moment A Violent Brawl Erupts Mid-Flight

A Scoot flight from the Gold Coast was forced to divert to Sydney after an "unruly" man started to fight with other passengers.

Footage uploaded by Rico David Garilli shows the man punching another man before the brawl ensues as other passengers step in to try and restrain him.

Several cabin members can be heard pleading with the man to stop.

At one point, his shirt is removed before he is eventually restrained in the aisle.

The incident happened about an hour and 20 minutes into the eight-hour flight with the low-cost airline.

"During boarding and take-off, the passenger appeared normal," a Scoot spokesperson said on Tuesday.

"After take-off, he began to disturb surrounding passengers. Operating crew quickly moved to other seats... Crews were also instructed not to sell alcohol to him."

According to Garilli, who uploaded the video to Facebook, the man started drinking "heavy" after an announcement the flight was delayed.

It's alleged the fight broke out soon after.

"The unruly passenger was eventually subdued with two restraining kits with the help of five passengers," Scoot said.

Flight TR7 was diverted to Sydney where the man was handed over to the Australian Federal Police. No charges have so far been laid.

The other passengers were transferred to other flights to Singapore.
