Man's Waterfall Death The Fourth Drowning In Three Days

A man has fallen into a rock pool at Grampians National Park and died.

The 27-year-old New Zealand national fell into the pool at McKenzie Falls at around 5pm on Wednesday and later drowned.

Police understand a witness tried to rescue the man but was unable to reach him amid the falling water.

He died at the scene and his body was recovered by emergency crews at about 1am on Thursday morning.

The death is the fourth drowning fatality in Victoria in three days, after three men died at beaches south of Melbourne over the Christmas period.
