Man In Serious Condition After Shark Attack On NSW Mid-North Coast
A man has suffered sever leg injuries after a shark attack south of Coffs Harbour on NSW's mid-north coast.
Emergency services were called to Wellington Drive just after 7am on Sunday after reports a man was bitten while surfing near Scotts Head Beach in Nambucca Heads, a NSW Ambulance spokesperson told 10 daily.
The 36-year-old man suffered five deep lacerations to his lower leg and lost a substantial amount of blood.
The Westpac Rescue chopper and six ambulance crews made their way to where the man was stranded on a nearby break wall.
A passer-by notified emergency services after noticing the man.
He was treated at the scene before being flown to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Beaches in the area are currently closed, including Shelley Beach and Main Beach.
