Kids Win Bravery Awards For Saving Mum
Children call Triple-0 to rescue mum after a seizure.
Two children who called Triple-0 when their mother had a seizure were among the courageous kids praised for their bravery by NSW Ambulance today.
Oliver and Maddie Mrljak made a frantic call for an ambulance after their mother collapsed and began convulsing on the floor.
On the phone to the Triple-0 operator, the terrified children can be heard taking directions to help keep her stable while they waited for the ambulance.
After officers arrived, they both continued to assist by informing them of her medical history and describing her symptoms.
Their lucky mother was taken to hospital and made a full recovery, thanks to their efforts.
The pair were presented with bravery awards from NSW Ambulance today, along with several other children who also made life-saving calls to Triple-0.
The ceremony was attended by NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and NSW Ambulance Commissioner Dominic Morgan.
