Mushrooms Recalled From Supermarkets Nationwide
Danger of large pieces of plastic in Coles, Woolworths, Aldi brands
A recall has been issued for punnets of sliced mushrooms found in Woolworths, Coles and Aldi stores across the country.
Coasta Group, the country’s largest grower, pre-packer and marketer of fresh mushrooms, recalled their sliced brown and white mushroom products on Friday after reporting the potential presence of large pieces of white plastic inside 200g, 375g and 500g punnets.
There is a potential hazard if plastic pieces are swallowed.
The products affected are those purchased in Victoria, NSW, Queensland, Tasmania and ACT, and stamped with best before or use by dates up to and including July 19, 2018
Foodstandards.gov.au announced the recall with a list of the affected product information including:
- Woolworths brand - vendor number 30274
- Coles brand - vendor number 922646
- Karidale (ALDI brand) - vendor number VN01102
- Costa Mushrooms - all
Customers are advised to return this product to their place of purchase for a full refund.
