A man has been handed 12 month's probation after facing Ipswich Magistrates Court accused of throwing a cat over a fence and into a neighbouring house's window.

Sam Conroy, 19, is seen throwing the animal in a video posted to Snapchat in mid-March 2018.

He pleaded guilty to one count of animal cruelty over the incident.

On Tuesday he was given 12 months' probation and ordered to do 100 hours of community service.

Conroy has also been banned from owning pets for three years and ordered to pay legal costs.
