He may be an arborist, but there wasn’t a tree in sight when 25 year old Alaa El Zien allegedly stormed shirtless down a Sydney street with his live chainsaw revving last month.

The dramatic moment -- which followed a brutal road rage attack at Fairfield East -- was captured by mobile phone cameras and a truck’s dash cam on April 10.

The videos show a Jeep trying to cross the intersection of The Horsley Drive and McLaren Street at Fairfield, before another driver gets out of his vehicle and approaches.

He’s filmed swinging several punches at the driver, before returning to his vehicle where he retrieves a chainsaw, starts it, and walks down the middle of the road with it, as onlookers scream.

The Jeep driver takes off.

El Zien faced Fairfield Court on Monday on charges of being armed with intent to intimidate and affray.

He did not enter a plea and his case was adjourned for two weeks.

Court papers reveal El Zien is a self employed arborist -- someone who prunes trees -- from Padstow whose wife is expecting their first child.

El Zien declined to answer questions from Ten Eyewitness News as he left court, sprinting through a nearby building site to avoid our cameras.
