Search For Missing Fisherman Lost 200 km From Queensland Coast Continues

The search for a 35-year-old fisherman who went missing from a vessel 200 km north-east of Yeppoon continues on Monday morning.
The man was last seen on the boat at 2 am on Sunday morning, but by 4 am crew members were unable to find him and raised the alarm with authorities.
The 23- metre 'NIght Crossing' charter boat was near Swains Reef when the alarm was raised. It is believed the man was on a fishing trip with four crew members and 17 passengers.
Four aircraft, three commercial vessels, six dories and one water police boat were deployed to search for the man.
“The area is massive, it covers about 96 km by 138 km,” Sergeant Mark Dean of Queensland Police Search and Rescue said on Sunday.
Police also said they would not speculate about the circumstances surrounding the man's disappearance.
“At this stage that’s the subject of investigation ... it’s primarily a search and rescue operation for us."
