Commuters were treated to a dusty haze across the CBD on their way to work on Wednesday morning.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, it reached as far as the Blue Mountains and is expected to clear into the afternoon.

A fire danger warning is in place for the Far North Coast, New England and Northern Slopes.
