A former US Marine detained in Russia has been charged with espionage. The 48-year-old was arrested last Friday on suspicion of spying and now faces up to 20 years in jail if convicted.

A 14-year-old boy in the US has been charged with murder after the SUV he was driving caused a fatal car accident. Silvia Zavala, 45, was in Houston visiting family to celebrate the new year when she was killed. Police say teens inside the SUV were throwing eggs at other cars, before the 14-year-old driver ran a red light and crashed into a truck, killing Zavala.
