NRL Star Jarryd Hayne has been granted strict conditional bail by police after he was charged with aggravated sexual assault. Hayne spent over nine hours at the Ryde police station on Monday, where he was questioned and charged over the alleged incident that occurred on September 30. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and Hayne will appear in Burwood Local Court on December 10.
Bali nine drug mule Renae Lawrence is preparing to walk free from Bali's Bangli jail after serving 13 years of a 20 year prison sentence for drug smuggling. The 41-year-old is set to be released from the jail on Wednesday, where she will travel back to Australia to be with her family. Lawrence underwent a Hindu ceremony, where she thanked the Gods at the temple inside the jail. If she is released as expected she will be the first member of the Bali Nine to walk free from jail.
The chairman of Nissan Carlos Ghosn has been arrested by Japanese authorities for financial misconduct. The 64-year-old is believed to have understated his income by tens-of-millions of dollars over several years and was exposed by a whistle blower. In a statement, Nissan said that other acts of misconduct have also been uncovered including personal use of company assets for example.
The White House has indicated that it could again revoke the press pass of CNN reporter Jim Acosta at the end of the month. On Friday CNN won a temporary restraining order which forced the White House to reinstate Acosta's pass for 14 days. The TV Network argued that Acosta's pass being revoked was a violation of his right to due process.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has said he didn't want to listen to the recording of the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi because it is "a suffering tape, it's a terrible tape". Trump said he has been fully briefed on the contents of the recording telling Fox News "I know everything that went on in the tape without having to hear it". Trump also said the world may never find out who ordered the killing of Khashoggi, but said the US has an ally in Saudi Arabia and he intends to honour that alliance.
Socceroo Tim Cahill is set to play is final match for Australia against Lebanon on Tuesday evening. After playing in four world cups for Australia and building an international career in Asia and Europe, the star Socceroo said he believes it's time to hang up the boots. Cahill's final match will be broadcast live and free on 10 Boss at 7.30pm on Tuesday.
Diddy has paid tribute to this ex partner Kim Porter after her death last week. In a number of emotional posts to Instagram and Twitter, the rapper said they "were more than soulmates". Porter was 47 when she passed away and was mother to three of Diddy's children.
