NRL Star Jarryd Hayne Accused Of Sexual Assault On NRL Grand Final Night, NSW Police Investigating

Police are investigating allegations that Jarryd Hayne sexually assaulted a woman in her 20s on NRL Grand Final night.

Speaking to 10 News First from Dubbo, Hayne's manager Wayne Beavis said he is aware of the allegations, but not specific details, and was reluctant to give further comment.

Police said they are investigating following reports a woman was sexually assaulted by a 30-year-old man in late September.

Police sources told 10 News First the woman and Hayne initially made contact with each other via social media and then agreed to meet up in the Hunter Valley region on NRL Grand Final night.

The woman -- believed to be in her 20's -- was interviewed by officers earlier this week, although Hayne himself is yet to be formally spoken to.

At the time of the alleged assault, Hayne was signed with the Parramatta Eels.

The woman reportedly has told investigators they had consensual sex, but  she withdrew consent, and suffered an injury during the encounter.

10 News First understands the allegation was first reported to the NRL's Integrity Unit, which then passed the information on to police.

"The matter is currently the subject of a police investigation so we will not be commenting," a spokesperson for NRL's Integrity Unit said.

The investigation is being led by detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad. They would not provide further details.

No charges have been laid.
