Airbnb Glitch Blocks Payouts To 23,000 Aussie Hosts

Australian Airbnb hosts haven't been receiving their payouts for almost a week. The glitch has affected around 23,000 hosts, who haven't been paid since November 1.

Affected hosts receive an email saying that there was a problem with their bank details and they needed to be added again.

On a call to their customer service line, the operator said "Since there has been a bug that we discovered recently, it affected a majority of our hosts in Australia."

"We already have a dedicated team that's going to resolve this."

In a statement to 10 Daily a spokesperson for Airbnb said,

“We’re aware of a payout hiccup impacting some of our Airbnb hosts in Australia, and have been working to remedy it. We apologise for any inconvenience."

There was no explanation as to why hosts hadn't been notified of the glitch, or how much money Airbnb is now withholding.

"(We) want our hosts to know they’ll be receiving a note from us shortly with instructions for a quick and easy fix."

But we're no clearer on when hosts will be receiving their money.
