One Dead After Boat Tragedy in Cronulla
A man has died after a sailing boat capsized off Sydney’s south this morning.
A woman who was on the boat managed to swim to shore and call emergency services.
The boat capsized on Boat Harbour, near Kurnell, about 5am on Monday.
A search began and at 5.48am the body of a man was seen near Wanda Beach.
The man was winched to shore by NSW Ambulance helicopter but couldn’t be revived.
The woman has been treated at the scene by paramedics and is now in Sutherland Hospital under observation.
An inquiry is now underway by officers from Sutherland Police Area Command and Marine Area Command.
It’s unknown if either of those on board were wearing life-jackets.
