'Too Black For TV': Weather Presenter Reduced To Tears After Abuse
Belgium weather presenter Cécile Djunga has broken down and called for respect and change after a year of unrelenting abuse.
In a five-minute Facebook video, which has now been viewed more than 1.5 million times, Djunga talks about the constant stream of racist abuse she received over the past year while appearing on Belgium's French-language public TV (RTBF).
Among the vile comments was a woman who called into the station to say Djunga was not fit for TV because she was "too black". The viewer said "she couldn't see anything on screen but my clothes".
"It doesn't stop,” Djunga said. “I've been doing this job for a year and I'm fed up of getting tonnes of racist and insulting messages... It hurts because I'm a human being."
Djunga said: "It's not funny anymore," receiving messages like "n**** go back to your country".
