A man in his late 20s has been shot dead in Sydney's inner west and the gunman is at large.
It's believed he was shot in the head at around 12.40pm on Friday. A gun was found nearby, but police couldn't confirm if it fired the fatal bullet.
Just after 2.30pm members of the Public Order and Riot Squad forced their way into a nearby house.
Police are searching for a man and woman in connection to the crime -- an extensive aerial and ground manhunt is underway.
Witnesses told police a man and woman were involved in an altercation with the victim.
NSW police have cordoned off streets surrounding Hereford and Minogue Crescent in Forest Lodge. The shooting happened about 100 metres from a primary school.
A Ten Eyewitness News crew saw the crime scene moments after it happened, and witnessed the deceased being covered by authorities.
