More Frozen Vegetables Have Been Recalled
Another frozen product has been pulled off shelves after concerns the product could be contaminated by potentially deadly listeria.
Metcash has recalled Black & Gold Mixed Vegetables 1kg from IGA, Campbells and Independent Grocers in NSW, VIC and TAS due to possible listeria contamination.
The NSW Food Authority this morning issued the notice, warning consumers not to consume this product and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Earlier this year, six people died following an outbreak of listeria caused by a contaminated rockmelon.
Listeria is a rare but potentially deadly illness caused by bacteria found in foods contaminated. Symptoms of lysteria contamination include fever and diarrhoea.
Listeria can cause illness in pregnant women and unborn babies and people with low immune systems, the food authority said.
Authorities are urging those with concerns to seek medical advice.
