52 Palestinian protesters have been killed by Israeli troops on the Gaza border as the U.S Embassy was opened in Jerusalem. It was the bloodiest clash between the two groups since the Gaza conflict in 2014. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended the actions of his troops, saying their actions were in self-defense. The Israeli leader also thanked Donald Trump for "having the courage to keep your promises" after moving the embassy to Jerusalem.

Facebook has suspended 200 apps as part of their investigation into personal data misuse. The social media giant's move follows intense public backlash against the company after the Cambridge Analytica scandal, where the information of over 300,000 Australian users was compromised. Facebook also said that is has investigated thousands of apps since the scandal.

Students from around the country begin NAPLAN testing on Tuesday. The tests aim to assess the reading, writing and maths skills of students in years three, five, seven and nine. One fifth of students will take the tests online for the first time as part of a planned move to computer testing which will take three years.

Meghan Markle's father will not be attending his daughters wedding to Prince Harry reports say. Mixed reports speculate about the reason for the move, some attributing it to a heart attack, while others sight paparazzi photos that surfaced of her father on Monday.  It's unclear what prompted Markle's father to pull out of the ceremony, leaving questions about who will walk Meghan down the isle unanswered.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced how the country will run when she goes on maternity leave. Deputy PM Winston Peters will take over the country's leadership during Ardern's six-week leave period, but she outlines she will still be receiving information about what is happening across NZ. Ardern will become the second leader in modern history to give birth while in power.

Melania Trump has been hospitalised with a kidney condition. The U.S. First Lady underwent kidney surgery on Monday at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center near Washington D.C. without any complications. The kidney issue has been described as benign.

'Superman' actor Margot Kidder has passed away, aged 69. The star, who was cast in over 70 films and TV shows in her career, passed away in Montana in the U.S. on Sunday. Her cause of death is still unknown.

Masterchef's Metter Chin was eliminated after Monday night's pressure test, but he's told ten daily that won't stop him cooking. The 54-year-old said he was proud of other contestants and tipped Jess to make it to the finals.  "Watch Jess. She's only 19 years old but the professionalism is like a fine art," he said. Chin said he plans to continue to laugh and share food with those closes to him.
