Hello, Gucci Is Now Selling Dirty Sneakers For $1,100

As it turns out, the 2001 film 'Zoolander' may have been somewhat prophetic in its depiction of future fashion.

Case in point: These Gucci sneakers, which appear to be fresh outta the Derelicte spring/summer collection.

The fashion house has decided to troll the entire world by creating a pair of dirty looking sneakers or 'distressed' in farhsun terms or, "you earn enough money now buy yourself some clean shoes" in my mother's terms.

The sneaker comes in three different dirty colour schemes including the very avant-garde (that's another arty term, FYI) Gucci tongue motif.

If you really like the idea but are a sucker for a bargain, you could just buy the non-distressed Gucci sneaker for $700 and give them a good working in.

While they are one of the most farshun forward brands in the world, Gucci isn't the first brand to release a distressed looking shoe.

Earlier this year, Golden Goose released a pair of $530 sneakers that were described as:

Crumply, hold-it-all-together tape details a distressed leather sneaker in a retro low profile with a signature sidewall star and a grungy rubber cupsole

Most people were pretty outraged by the design, with many taking to Twitter to call out the company for 'glorifying poverty'.
