These Prosthetic Skin Heels Will Haunt Your Dreams

OK, but WHY?

No, seriously ... why?

As if walking in high heels wasn't already hard enough -- Montreal-based designer duo Fecal Matter has gone and created a prosthetic thigh-high skin heel that looks exactly as bizarre as it sounds.

The shoe -- if we can even call it that -- has been designed to look like the wearer's actual leg and is adorned with tiny horns poking out from the wearer's thigh.

Instead of actual heels -- the shoe has been created to give the illusion that the wearer is sporting (or has perhaps evolved) their very own scythe-shaped flesh heel.

A lot of detail has gone into the creation -- which has been made from silicon and mimics human features such as our little dents and moles and even our hair.

In an interview with Vogue, the pair behind the creation revealed they wanted to create a design that will reflect what humans may eventually look like as a result of body modification and social media trends.

I guess when you think of it that way...

Anyway, you can actually buy a pair of these things but they're not cheap and will set you back around $14,126.
