Danish Fashionistas Love This Super-Quick And Easy Hairstyle
A stylist shares their tips on how to recreate it yourself.
Let's give a warm welcome back to the hairstyle of the moment: the low bun.
It's been seen on countless fashionistas out and about for the Copenhagen Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2019 shows, and it's dead easy to recreate yourself.
Think of it as a grown-up version the one you wore to beginners ballet class, although not quite as prim-and-proper -- or hairspray-heavy.
We tapped Annaleise from the Channel TEN styling team for all the deets on how to channel this trendy Danish 'do, which apparently is perfect for when you don't have time to wash or blow dry your tresses.
"It’s the best style for a dirty hair day," Annaleise Smith told ten daily, "in fact it works best with dirty hair." We're loving this already!
First up, create a middle part. "A tail comb is the tool for this job," said Annaleise, who loves the YS Park tail comb.
Then brush your hair down and sweep it to the back and into a low pony at the nape of your neck.
If your hair is too fluffy, use a wax to slick down. "Another cheat way to achieve this is to do it when your hair is still wet from washing," was Annaleise's tip.
Lastly, simply twist the ponytail into a bun and secure with bobby pins. Done!
Below are some of gorgeous low-bun-loving Danes to inspire you to try the trend.
