Bride Invites Female Guests to Wear Their Wedding Dresses To Her Own Wedding
Audrey Moore -- an actor from Godless and Better Call Saul -- knew from the start that her December 30 wedding to her beau, writer Jesse Lumen, wasn't going to be conventional.
"We really wanted our wedding to really represent ourselves, our sense of humour, our creativity, and also not just celebrate ourselves but marriage in general as a choice," she told BuzzFeed News.
For the bride-to-be that meant asking her gal-pals to wear their own wedding dresses for Moore's big day on December 30, 2018.
"I've been to all of their weddings and I saw them all in their beautiful dresses. I wanted them to have the opportunity to wear their really magical, beautiful dress a second time," she said.
As Moore explained on Reddit, her friends were hesitant at first because they didn't want to upstage her -- no one but the bride should wear white, let alone a wedding gown, to someone else's wedding, right?
Little did they know Moore had a surefire way to make sure that she was the centre of the attention -- by wearing an ice blue wedding gown, of course.
The internet is going crazy for the quirky ceremony.
Quick -- someone buy the rights, ASAP.
If this doesn't bring a tear to your eye we don't know what will.
What about unmarried lasses, you ask? Those who didn't have a wedding dress for whatever reason either borrowed one from their mum or a family member or rented one from a fancy dress shop.
Everyone else was asked to wear black and white -- or a crazy costume, Lumen explained on Reddit.
The groom himself and his best men opted for a comfy take on the traditional tuxedo -- yup, they wore hoodies with a jacket and bow tie printed on the front.
"My groomsmen were so happy. Cheap, comfortable, and they still wear them in their daily lives (as do I!)," Lumen wrote on Reddit.
That's before the groom changed into an alien costume for the reception because ... well, why not?
As for Moore, she threw on a tiara and clipped in a blonde braid and voila -- she was Elsa from Frozen! According to her, it's only the first time that will happen ...
"I told my seamstress I’m so excited to dress up as Elsa and Cinderella for every costume event till it turns to threads. She was a bit horrified by the thought of her dress being worn to costume events but she’s used to me by now." she wrote on Reddit.
Needless to say, the newlyweds' unconventional nuptials have gone viral -- and Moore couldn't be happier.
Congrats to the happy couple!
