'Gnaw Jean Reno's Great Rear': The Best Misheard Lyrics You've Ever Heard

Are you always getting the words wrong to some of your favourite songs?

Well, it turns out there's actually a word for that, and you're definitely not alone.

A 'mondegreen' is a mishearing or a misinterpretation of a phrase because of how similar what you hear, sounds to the actual words, most often it happens to a person listening to a song or poem... so you know the time you heard Taylor Swift sing "Starbucks lover" in Blank Space?

YouTuber Bec Hill has taken the classic Edith Piaf song 'Non, je ne regrette rienand made us all feel a little better about mishearing the most popular lyrics in history.

In a spectacular video, Hill re-created all of the song lyrics on a moving, sliding and spinning flip book giving us some of the most commonly misheard lines, including:

"Gnaw Jean Reno's great rear" that's actually "Non je ne regrette rien"

Which roughly translates to: "No, I do not regret anything."

"She's a loo made of fur" which is actually "j'ai allumé le feu.".

Which roughly translates to: "I lit the fire".

Then, "drawn a blue person door" that's really "Je n'ai plus besoin d'eux".

Which roughly translates to: "I do not need them anymore".

We asked around the 10 daily office to see if there were any lyrics that had given some of the team trouble over the years:

"I used to think they were singing about nosebleed in Don't Speak by No Doubt," said social media producer Cat May.

"Don't tell me 'cause it hurts, wo-oah nosebleed"

10 daily video producer Myles Davis had a little bit of trouble with Ariana Grande's "thank u, next": "I thought it was 'bacon eggs'!"

Not even Aussie artists were off the hook with 10 daily video lead Wade Shipard mishearing the chorus of Amy Shark's "I Said Hi" as 'tell your mum I said hi'.

Entertainment editor Stephanie Anderson pointed out that many people (not her) mishear Fall Out Boy's 'This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race' as "this ain't a scene, it's a goddamn ass face".
