An Actual Egg Has Cracked Kylie Jenner's Instagram World Record

The mysterious chicken egg has snatched King Kylie's 'most-liked Insta post of all time' crown.

The photo of the egg was posted to the newly-hatched @world_record_egg account on January 5 and aimed to "set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram."

Well, on January 14 it bloody well happened -- the egg hit 18.4 million likes.

The unnamed egg has achieved its goal of eclipsing the record set by social media superstar and makeup mogul Kylie Jenner.

In the egg's bio, he/she/it stated, "Kylie Jenner has the record for the most likes on an Instagram post with 18M. Can we beat it with a picture of an egg?"

Jenner won the internet back in February 2018 by posting a snap of her newborn daughter Stormi which reached breathtaking 18 million likes.

The 21-year-old's cute post had held the top spot for almost a year leaving Justin Bieber's pic of his new wife Hailey Bieber, Beyoncé's twins and Selena Gomez's kidney transplant for dust.

That all changed ... because of an egg.

Whoever -- or whatever -- is behind the account seems to know what they're doing, too. They've tagged media heavyweights like Lad Bible, Mashable and Buzzfeed, as well as talk show hosts Ellen DeGeneres and Jimmy Fallon.

The Kylie Cosmetics founder has since scrambled -- pun intended -- to respond, posting a video of her breaking an egg on sizzling hot pavement with the caption, "Take that little egg."

Touché, Jenner.

Will King Kylie claim back her throne? Perhaps her fans will revolt and create fake accounts just to push up likes on her post? Stranger things have happened ...

In the meantime let us enjoy all the wild memes that the internet has cooked up about the egg vs. Kylie situation -- here are just some we found.
