Facebook Messenger Just Rolled Out A Very Dark Update

Like, literally.

While we all know we really shouldn't be using our phones at night -- it's a hard habit to break.

Thankfully, Facebook knows this and have revealed they will be rolling out a Dark Mode for Messenger.

Last month, the company casually announced the feature would be coming "in the near future" -- and now it's here

It was uncovered by Twitter user Jane Manchun Wong.

According to Facebook, Dark Mode is a 're-skinned interface that cuts down on glare from your phone'.

From what we can tell from the images, the feature appears similar to Twitter's 'Night Mode' -- whip helps cut down the glare from the white background.

The new Facebook feature aims to make the app easier to use at night and will help to save on battery power.
