Ex-NRL Star Alex McKinnon And His Wife Teigan Welcome Baby Girl

"When 2 became 3"

Former Newcastle Knights player Alex McKinnon and his wife Teigan have welcomed a baby girl into their lives.

Teigan took to her Instagram account to announce the birth of Harriet Anne.

Beside a beautiful photo of herself and husband Alex cradling the baby, Teigan wrote: "When 2 became 3".

The couple announced they were expecting their first child together in March this year.

Alex's life was permanently changed in 2014, when at just 22 he suffered a devastating spinal injury during a match.

He was diagnosed as a quadriplegic and told he may never walk again. He has been confined to a wheelchair ever since.

Alex proposed to his teen sweetheart and partner of six years, Teigan, just days after his accident.

Since his accident, Teigan has been by Alex's side and played a constant role in his ongoing recovery.

In October last year Alex fulfilled one of his dreams -- walking down the aisle in an emotional wedding ceremony with Teigan.

The couple celebrated their one year anniversary earlier this year.
