The acclaimed photography series follows photographers from Australia and around the world as they push the limits of their craft. Told from the eye of the storyteller, Tales by Light shadows these extraordinary creatives as they work to capture the perfect image and show us our world in a new light.

Season 3 takes viewers behind the lens and into the minds of three new photographers, each motivated to harness the power of images to draw attention to and inspire us all to protect some of the most beautiful and vulnerable aspects of our world: children, the ocean and Australian Indigenous culture.

Here's a sneak peak of what to expect from this incredible three-part series:

Episode 1: Children in Need

Sunday August 26, 12.30pm

Kicking off the season, episode one is as inspiring as it is confronting. Children in Need gives viewers an insight into what it’s like to be a child who has to work for a living. UNICEF’s global photographer Simon Lister goes to Dhaka, Bangladesh with UNICEF goodwill ambassador Orlando Bloom, capturing the lives of children working to survive on the railway slums and shining a light on the much needed support for people living in extreme poverty.

Episode 2: Paradise in Peril

Sunday September 2, 12:30pm

In episode two, Emmy Award-winning cinematographer and conservationist Shawn Henrichs travels to Isla Majeures in Mexico and Raja Ampat in Indonesia to share never-before-seen footage of human impact on marine life in our oceans. Shawn aims to connect the global community with the beauty and vulnerability of threatened marine species through his inspiring and dramatic imagery.

Episode 3: Preserving Indigenous Culture

Sunday September 9, 12:30pm

Award-winning indigenous filmmaker and photographer Dylan River visits central and northern Australia to capture the culture and heritage of Australian Indigenous people so that it can be relayed and preserved for future generations. Dylan documents the ancient art and ceremonies in Arnhem Land and the Kimberley, capturing the communities and the landscape rich in stories, culture and traditions spanning tens of thousands of years.

Season 3 of Tales by Light will air on Network Ten and tenplay from Sunday 26 August 2018.
