George And Charlotte's Cute-As-Anything Day Out

Being a young royal is hard work!

It's been a busy weekend for the smallest royals -- after watching the Trooping of the Colour for their great Granny's birthday on Saturday, Prince George and Princess Charlotte were out again on Sunday, this time on an outing with mum.  The three of them spent a sunny afternoon watching Prince William play polo, while brother Louis stayed at home with the nanny.

The Duke was taking part in the Maserati Royal Charity Polo Trophy to raise money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and CentrePoint and while he was playing, the kids slipped off their shoes and chased each other around the edges of the field as mum, the Duchess of Cambridge, looked on.

Charlotte, aged three, also showed off her acrobatic technique by tumbling on the grass and  practicing her headstands much to Kate's enjoyment, while George, who will be five next month, mimicked his father by hitting balls with a miniature polo mallet and spent time playing with a slinky.

George, we don't think that is what you're supposed to do with a slinky. Image: Getty

Charlotte -- obviously a budding fashionista --  also put on a pair of very cool sunglasses, causing her mum to laugh.

The cutest, right? Image: Getty

The loveble pair were also joined by their cousin  Savannah Phillips, the 7-year-old daughter of Peter Phillips, who is William’s first cousin and brother of Zara Tindall and her sister Isla. On Saturday, Savannah was the breakout star of Trooping the Colour when she put her hand over her cousin George’s mouth on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, seemingly to shut him up.

Savannah, seven, has clearly developed a close bond with both of her cousins, as she was pictured with her arm around Charlotte as the children all sat on a grass slope together, and playing with the young Princess as she slid giggling down the slope.

If you're a fan of polo (or just like watching them royals on horseback, then take note -- William and his brother, Prince Harry, are taking part in a series of polo games through the coming weeks, raising money for their key charities in the process. We can look forward to Aunty Meghan joining the kids, too!
