Katherine Kelly Lang Reflects On 8,000 Episodes Of Bold And The Beautiful

One of two remaining original castmembers, Katherine Kelly Lang has played Brooke Logan for over 30 years.

Now she’s gearing up for a whole new adventure on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, but before she traded her world of melodrama for jungle life she spoke to 10 daily about reaching the massive milestone.

“Every milestone is amazing,” she said, “I never thought that I would be there that long, and then 8,000 episodes later it’s hard to believe.”

Describing going to work as if it’s like she’s going home, Lang told 10 daily that being on the show for more than three decades the cast begins to feel like family. And occasionally they ARE family. Lang is one of the three actors whose real-life children have played their fictional kids on in the series.

“My first son played my son for four years,” she said, “I raised them in the dressing room. They would come to work with me and sit in there, I’d run back and forth and nurse them and go back to set!”

Despite playing Brooke for 4,000 hours of TV, across 360,000 pages of dialogue and through all 15 of Brooke’s weddings (seriously!), Lang told us that she has no trouble separating herself from the character even after all this time.

“It’s weird, I go to work usually in my sweats or jeans, no hair, no makeup,” she said, “the minute they start putting on the hair, the makeup and putting me in the Brooke clothes I feel like her, you know?”

“And then I’m just instantly Brooke, doing the scenes and whatever we have to shoot that day. Then I take all that off, shower, and I feel like myself again.”

Lang is joining our celebs in the jungle for a great cause close to her heart, a charity called Breakaway from Cancer which supports those affected by cancer and their families, as well as raising awareness for services and resources for those affected.

“It’s personal for me because my father passed away from cancer when I was 13,” she said adding, “It really bothered me, since I was a little girl and really missing my dad, and I always thought -- I really want to find a charity that I can connect with, that I can help.”

You can see Katherine Kelly Lang join the celebs in the jungle on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! on Monday, January 28 at 7.30 on 10 and 10 Play.
