I’m A Celebrity 2019: Ajay Rochester Slams Gogglebox’s Yvie Jones, “Harden The F**k Up!”

Before even setting a foot in camp, sparks are already flying between a few of the celebs this year.

Former Biggest Loser host Ajay Rochester wasn’t holding back when 10 daily caught up with her before she donned her khakis and went into the jungle.

When asked if there was anything that could make Rochester say “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!” the author and producer was adamant. “I’ve constantly said there are only two ways that you’re going to be able to get me out of there… you’re either going to have to drag me out by the heels or I’ll come out with a crown on my head,” Rochester told 10 daily.

“This is what pisses me off with Tomic and Tom Arnold,” Rochester continued, “If you’re gonna do it… do it.”

Leaning in close, Rochester then said, “I’m going to throw some shade at the Gogglebox girl,” referring to Yvie Jones. “If she really has got a medical note so she can have snacks in the tent during the day then she needs to f**king take half a cup of cement and harden the f**k up.”

The I’m A Celebrity superfan was referring to an interview Jones did with TV Week where she was quoted as saying “I’m worried about how small the portions will have to be".

When 10 daily spoke to Jones before she went into the jungle she clarified saying, “I don’t have a medical certificate for food, I have a medical certificate for my back”.

“I can’t jump out of things or onto things,” Jones explained, “I can jump into water, but I can’t land on hard ground. [The doctor] exempted me from that.”

Jones had a gastric sleeve procedure -- or a sleeve gastrectomy -- in 2017, which decreases the size of the stomach to help with weight loss. According to the Gogglebox star, the process didn’t have a huge effect on her weight, just the amount she can eat.

“I can eat anything -- anything -- I just can’t eat a lot of it. In the Tucker Trials I’ll probably have to get rid of it like everyone else,” she said before pantomiming a massive spew. “When it comes to the portions of food in the camp, I don’t know how big they are but I think I’ll be fine unless they’re huge, and then I’ll be wasting food!”

Jones confessed that in the 18 months since having the procedure she’s only lost “a couple of kilos”.

“I think I’m going to go into the jungle and not lose any weight,” she said, laughing. “I’m already eating like a bird and I’m not losing weight so why would that change? I might be a medical marvel that’s just like the woman who can’t lose weight no matter how hard she tries!” she joked.

Rochester also had a gastric sleeve and claimed that the process is no excuse for cutting corners -- or adding snack breaks.

“If you’re going to do it,” Rochester continued, “You’ve got to do it properly. Having a gastric sleeve is no excuse. That’s bullsh*t. I’ve got one and I don’t give a sh*t. I don’t give a sh*t how hungry I get.”

While it’s still very early days, there could be a clash in the near future after Jones admitted she was worried about what would happen when she wasn’t able to eat throughout the day.

“I eat when I want to, who doesn’t!” Jones told 10 daily, “That’s going to be the hardest thing because I use food as my coping mechanism. It’s a go-to. If I have stress I’m going to want to get a pack of chips.”

“And when I can’t get a pack of chips… I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
