Golden Globes 2019: Little Monsters Are Fuming Cos Lady Gaga Just Lost
Fans believe Lady Gaga was snubbed for the for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama, which instead went to Glenn Close.
Lady Gaga -- real name Stefani Germanotta -- has proved she's a force to be reckoned with in both music AND film, as she took home the Golden Globe for Best Original Song for "Shallow", which features on the soundtrack for A Star Is Born.
Fans, however, are outraged after the star lost out the Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama, which went to Glenn Close for her work in The Wife.
It was a tough competition for 32-year-old Gaga, who was up against other industry heavyweights Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy and Rosamund Pike who were also competing for the impressive accolade.
While accepting her first award of the evening, Gaga took the opportunity to discuss the difficulties of being a "woman in music."
"As a woman in music, it is really hard to be taken seriously as a singer and a songwriter and these... incredible men, they lifted me up and they supported me," she said.
Speaking backstage about director and co-star Bradley Cooper, Gaga praised the actor's work for his directorial debut.

“We were talking about how the song is counter-culture in a lot of ways. It doesn’t really fit in as a commercial song and so people connected to it,” she continued.
