The Trailer For Stan's New Series 'Bloom' Has Dropped

The six-part Aussie series stars Jacqui Weaver, Bryan Brown, Phoebe Tonkin and Ryan Corr and will be released on Stan January 1st.

What better way to ring in the new year than binge-watching this brand new series while you're in bed nursing a mad hangover from the night before??

In case you haven't heard about it, Bloom is a six-part Australian miniseries starring Aussie acting heavyweights Bryan Brown and Jacki Weaver, as well as Phoebe Tonkin and Ryan Corr.

The series focuses on Gwen (the older Gwen is played by Weaver and the younger Gwen by Tonkin) -- a woman suffering dementia -- and her husband, Ray (Brown).

After a devastating flood in their country town kills five people, a mysterious berry begins to grow in their yard that seems to hold the secret to eternal youth.

After Gwen makes use of the plant, which sees her return to her youthful self, the couple's lives are changed forever -- and from the looks of the trailer, there seems to be a love triangle thrown into the mix.

Series creator Glen Dolman described the highly-anticipated series as a "gothic fairytale" which "offers the wonder and wish fulfilment of returning to your physical prime".

"With heightened energy, passions and desires -- but with a dramatic price: your deepest regrets become your uncontrollable compulsions. These conflicting obsessions make our 'rejuvenated' characters clash, sometimes violently, and give us the gothic aspect of our story, which -- while grounded and emotional -- also operates as an escapist, cinematic, six-hour feature with mystery, humour and horror."

All six episodes of Bloom will be released on Stan on January 1.
